Downloading old PayPal statements

Where PayPal hides them

  1. Log in at paypal.com (desktop works best).
  2. Go to Activity โ†’ look for Statements (top right), or visit paypal.com/reports/statements.
  3. Choose Monthly โ€” statements are typically available going back years; older months may need a 'Request' click and a short wait before the Download button appears.
  4. Download each month as PDF.

Now make them usable

A folder of PDFs isn't books. Drop each statement into the Footed converter to get structured transactions โ€” gross, fees and net split โ€” exported to Excel, CSV, Google Sheets, or QBO/OFX files that QuickBooks and Xero import directly.

Tip for bookkeepers doing catch-up work

Ask clients for the PDFs (they can download them in minutes with the steps above) rather than login access โ€” cleaner for engagement letters, and Footed's browser-local processing means their financial documents never touch a server anyway.
